The Posbankloop starts and finishes on the Rozendaalselaan in the middle of Velp and heads from there into the Veluwezoom national park: up the Posbank via Rheden, and later back past the Emmapiramide via Rozendaal. Those are the two climbs that give the course its character. The second is called the Muur van Aalbers and has a classification of its own: the first man and first woman to the top each receive a watch from the Velp jeweller who lends it his name. There are two distances of 6 and 15 kilometres, plus kids runs over 450, 900 and 1500 metres. The course is largely paved but carries considerably more climbing than the average Dutch road race.
