The swim takes place at the Domelaar, after which the bike course and the run course each cover two laps, so spectators can follow the racing at close range. Because the athletes are competing for points at continental level, Saturday draws a different field from the recreational parts of the weekend: here it is about positions in the international rankings. The event is run by the same foundation that carries the whole Holten triathlon weekend.
