The ÆVO Brabantse Wal Marathon is AV SPADO's nature run from Bergen op Zoom. Start and finish are on the athletics track at Sportpark Rozenoord, after which the routes head into the green Brabantse Wal area and run largely over unpaved paths. The programme is broader than the marathon alone: alongside the marathon and duo-marathon there are also a half marathon, 10 kilometres, 5 kilometres and a 1.3-kilometre Kidsrun. That gives the event a clear mix of club organization, wooded courses and serious distance choice. For runners who like putting in long kilometres outside the city, while still having an athletics club as a reliable base, this is a distinctly Brabant running fixture.
