BeatTheObstacles is an obstacle run through Lemelerveld, starting and finishing on the Sukerbietenveld. The course leads past hotspots in and around the village and takes place largely in and around the water, so staying dry is not an option. Runners choose between 5 and 11 kilometres; children from eight to twelve run a 2.8-kilometre kids' run over part of the same course, optionally with an adult alongside. Participants set off in start blocks spread across the afternoon, with friends or colleagues who want to run together picking the same block. Team Sukerbiet organises the event and passes the entire proceeds on to charity.
