The Austerlitz Ultra is the longest distance of the trail weekend around Zeist, with 50 kilometres as the only option. It is run in the state forests near Austerlitz, the same area the shorter Austerlitz Trail passes through a day earlier: old beech avenues, mixed woodland and, by Dutch standards, a fair amount of relief. Because only one distance is on the programme, the race aims squarely at experienced trail runners looking for a long day in the woods. The course is covered in laps, which keeps aid stations and support along the way straightforward.
