The Austerlitz Trail sets off at the KNVB Campus on the Woudenbergseweg in Zeist, which sits in the middle of state forest — within a few hundred metres of the car park you are already under the trees. There are three distances of 10, 21 and 30 kilometres, with 50, 120 and 220 metres of climbing. The climbing comes from the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and is spread over short slopes rather than one long ascent, which tells above all in the second half of the long distance. The routes run over forest paths and sandy tracks. The event is organised by Trail Events together with the Zeist municipality and Staatsbosbeheer.
