Amakloop Akersloot

About the race

The Amakloop is the club race of the Akersloter Marathon Klub and runs largely along the Alkmaardermeer, so you have water on one side for almost the whole route. That makes the course open and flat, but also exposed: if there is wind across the lake you feel it on the way back. There are three competition distances of 5, 10 and 15 kilometres, and before them the youth run 800 or 1600 metres. The event has been going for decades and deliberately stays small — it is a club race open to everyone, not a city event.
