4 Mijl van Emmen

About the race

The 4 Mijl van Emmen links the south side of the town with the centre and finishes on the Raadhuisplein. The four miles starts at Emmen Zuid station; the eight miles begins and ends on that same square and joins parts of the shorter course along the way. There are also kids' runs over 500 and 1000 metres, a Business Run over the same four miles, separate competitions for schools and sports clubs, and the Unieke Kilometer for participants the standard distances do not suit. Music lines the route, and afterwards the 4 Mijl Festival carries on in the square. That makes it as much a town celebration as a race.
