The Zwartewaterlandloop is an evening race in Zwartsluis, with the start and finish at Sluuspoort on Handelskade. The programme opens in the late afternoon with youth races over 1 and 3 kilometres. The half marathon, the 12.2 kilometres, a relay for teams of three and the 6 kilometres follow. The half marathon and the 6 kilometres have their own starting point outside the village: participants are taken from the Esso filling station to the start and run back into Zwartsluis from there. For the relay, the organisers drive the second and third runners to the exchange points. Changing rooms and showers are available at the start location, and times are recorded with a chip handed out with your race number.
