The Zeebenenloop Blankenberge is a coastal running event organised by VZW KANONG, with start and finish at Bistro Steiger 18 on Havenplein 3. The programme combines a 1 km kids run with 5 km, 10 km and 10 miles. The routes pass through Blankenberge and along recognisable coastal landmarks such as the sea wall, the pier, the marina and the dunes; the 10-mile course also reaches the open landscape of the Uitkerkse Polders. The race uses electronic timing, but runners remain subject to the road code on some sections and are guided by marshals. With entertainment and catering around the start and finish, the Zeebenenloop feels both like a race and a local seaside gathering.
