The Turnhout half marathon sets off at the Nieuwe Kaai and leaves the town quickly: the course follows the marina, crosses the Bels Lijntje — the old railway line to the Netherlands, now a dead-straight cycle path — and touches the Turnhout fen district. The half marathon in particular is therefore more a nature run than a city race. The morning opens with the kids runs, after which the 5, the 10 and the half marathon go at ten to twenty minute intervals. At the finish there is a large terrace with entertainment. The event is organised by Taxantria.
