Marathon Kasterlee

About the race

The Marathon Kasterlee turns on a single 21-kilometre lap through the woods of the Antwerp Kempen. Anyone running the half covers that lap once, anyone running the marathon twice — so the distances are 21 and 42 kilometres. Half and full set off together at ten from the Geelsebaan. Within each lap the first eleven kilometres are flat, after which it turns slightly hilly; ninety-five percent runs on forest and field roads. Because everyone covers the same loop, the whole field passes the same point twice, which keeps the event compact and easy to follow.
