The Turfloop is a summer evening race in Schijf, with the start, finish and registration at Bistro de Beenhouwer on the Sint Antoniusstraat. The course is a single lap through the wooded country around the village: anyone running five kilometres covers it once, the ten kilometres twice. The evening opens with a one-kilometre kids run, after which the main distances leave at seven. Both starts are preceded by a group warm-up a quarter of an hour beforehand. Because everything happens around the same point, the set-up stays small and easy to follow, with the bistro as the natural centre of the evening.
