The Triathlon IJsselmuiden is an eighth-distance triathlon based at the Sonnenberch sports centre. It starts with 500 metres of swimming in the pool, followed by 21.8 kilometres on the bike towards the Koekoek and the Mastenbroek polder, and closes with 5 kilometres of running over two laps. That same distance can be tackled individually or as a relay with a team of two or three, so that anyone wanting to do just one discipline can join in. The event is organised by people from the sports centre and a physiotherapy practice in the village, and the proceeds go to three local and social causes.
