The 10 Mijl van Zwolle-Zuid starts and finishes at the SIO community centre on the Thorbeckelaan. The main programme consists of 5 and 10 miles: the shorter distance stays within the district and the open land by the IJssel, while the longer one pushes on towards Harculo. Before that, primary school children run their own KidsRun over one, two or three laps of 440 metres, in rising age groups starting a quarter of an hour apart. In the weeks beforehand there are kids clinics at a local football club. The proceeds go to charities in the city each year, and the event runs on volunteers from the district itself.
