Trappistenrun Westmalle

About the race

The Trappistenrun sets off from the Mintjens Arena on the Heidemolenbaan and runs through the green country around the Trappist abbey of Westmalle. There are three routes: 7, 14 and 21 kilometres. The start format is unusual — there is no mass gun, but three waves each with a free start window of an hour, between nine and twelve. You pick your own moment within your wave, which spreads the crowd and makes the whole thing looser than a classic road race, while your time is still recorded. All three routes carry refreshments. Play & Sport organises the event.
