Escape The Watcher is a navigation race in the Kempen region around Malle, where the limit is set by time rather than distance. Participants try to get as far from the start as possible within six or twelve hours and be back before the clock runs out. Points count as the crow flies: one point per kilometre between the start and the furthest point you reached, regardless of how many kilometres you covered getting there. Extra points are available at checkpoints whose locations are only revealed a week beforehand, which keeps the tactics open until the last moment. Anyone returning late loses a point per minute. You run solo or in pairs, and a pair must start together and finish together.
