Trail For Nature is a trail run in Herent where running and experiencing nature go together, starting and finishing at the Warotzaal in Winksele. There are three distances — 7.5, 15 and 22 kilometres — with 125, 255 and 350 metres of climbing respectively, plus a Kids Trail of 1.2 kilometres. The longest distance sets off first, the shortest half an hour later, and the 15 kilometres closes the sequence of starts. Every distance has a spread at the finish, the two longest also have an aid station on the way, and timing is provided. What sets this trail apart is where the money goes: local nature conservation, so you run through the landscape and support its preservation at the same time. Each participant gets a personalised race number and a voucher for a bowl of soup.
