Bosbaanrun

About the race

The Bosbaanrun is a small-scale cross-country race around the Bosbaan rowing course in the Amsterdamse Bos, where runners do not start en masse but individually: every thirty seconds someone sets off on a seven-kilometre race against the clock. The course changes surface constantly and includes long stretches without asphalt, so puddles and mud are part of it — a genuine cross-country feel. The route runs anticlockwise and the easternmost loop is covered twice in the same way. Race numbers are collected from nine o'clock at the rowing club on the Bosbaan, where coffee, tea and a bowl of hot soup wait afterwards. A raffle closes the morning. Small in scale, informal in atmosphere and yet a real race.
