Rondje Almkerk is the village race of the Altena Road Runners, starting and finishing on the Dirk van Clevestraat. The course is a two-thousand-metre lap through Almkerk: the six kilometres is three laps, the ten is five. The evening opens at half past six with the youth over 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 metres; an hour later the adults set off, with a separate six-kilometre series for sixteen to nineteen-year-olds alongside the six and the ten. There is no prize money at all — the first three per category get a memento — because the race exists to raise money for the Roparun, in which Team Altena 280 takes part.
