The Ronde van West is the neighbourhood race of Capelle-West, organised by the local residents' foundation and now in its eighteenth edition. The programme is broadly set up: alongside races over 5 and 10 kilometres there are walking routes over the same distances, a youth run of 2 kilometres and a junior run of 1 kilometre in which parents may join. The evening starts with the children and continues with the longer distances. The routes lead through the greenery of 's-Gravenland and its surroundings; the 10 kilometres is flat and quiet in terms of traffic. That combination of accessibility and a pleasant course explains why the longest distance usually fills up early.
