Marathon Alblasserwaard 750

About the race

The Marathon Alblasserwaard 750 is a one-off marathon celebrating 750 years of the Alblasserwaard: in 1277 Count Floris V established central dyke management there. You run from the visitor centre by the windmills of Kinderdijk straight through the Alblasserwaard to the athletics track in Gorinchem. Along the way you pass polder mills, reservoirs, characteristic villages and open peat meadow landscape. The route runs almost entirely on separate cycle paths and quiet roads. Because the polder roads are narrow, you start in pens based on your expected finishing time.
