The Rivierenland Triathlon takes place around De Kaap at Beldert Beach in Zoelen, in the Betuwe municipality of Buren. The swim is in the clear open water of the Beldert, after which the bike course follows a loop of just over twenty kilometres through the polder landscape, once for the eighth and twice for the quarter triathlon. Alongside those two competitive distances there is the Tri4Fun, where after the swim and the bike you walk five kilometres rather than run, and where a coffee with apple pie along the way is entirely allowed. That option is meant for anyone who wants to try the three-discipline sport without the pressure of performance.
