The Bommelse Promenadeloop is a sponsored run in Zaltbommel, starting and finishing at De Verdraagzaamheid on the Waalkade. The main event is the performance run, in which participants choose for themselves whether to cover 2.5, 5, 7.5 or 10 kilometres; alongside it runs a relay in which teams share four laps of 2.5 kilometres. Later in the day come races for schoolchildren, and there is room for walkers as well. The event is organised by a Roparun team from the Bommelerwaard, and the proceeds accordingly go to the Roparun foundation. That cause gives the day its direction: there is running, but above all collective fundraising.
