The Preshoekbosloop leaves from the Olympiadeplein in Marke and runs mostly over unpaved paths through the Preshoekbos and towards the Leie valley. There are four running distances — 8, 14, 22 and 29 kilometres — starting in reverse order: the longest at quarter past nine, the shortest at ten, so everyone is back at roughly the same time. The 8 and the 14 can also be hiked, starting two minutes after the runners, and there is a family walk of about six kilometres for which you register on the day only. The organisers are clear about it: this is not a race. Times are recorded, but there is no ranking.
