Winter Corrida Kortrijk is an evening city race in the heart of Kortrijk, part of the Winter in Kortrijk programme. The course passes lit squares, Christmas markets and quaysides, over cobbles and paving stones on streets closed specially for the race. The evening opens with kids' runs of 500 and 1000 metres, after which the 9 kilometres sets off first and the 5 only half an hour later. There is electronic timing on the main distances and podium prizes for the fastest children. Entries on the day are possible while places last. That build-up makes the event both a race for those who want to run fast and a winter evening out for families, with the city itself as the backdrop.
