The Pettige Pony's Natuurloop starts at the parsonage of Olmen, a village within the municipality of Balen, and leads over lesser-known paths in the surrounding area. There are three distances — 5, 10 and 15 kilometres — which may be walked as well as run. The course is not suitable for pushchairs, precisely because it seeks out the narrow paths rather than the paved roads. The event is organised by vzw De Pettige Pony's and the proceeds go to vzw M.I.N. Mol. At the parsonage the event ground stays open all day, from eight in the morning until six in the evening, which gives the race a distinctly village character.
