The Oranjeloop of Nieuwleusen is run on a Monday evening, starting and finishing on the Bosmansweg by the event grounds. The programme begins with the very youngest and works upwards: a toddlers' run of two hundred metres, a kids run of five hundred, and youth races over one and two English miles. Then come the 10 and the 5 kilometres, both certified and run in loops of two and a half kilometres through the Oranje district, entirely on asphalt. Loopgroep AG '85 organises the race together with the local Oranje association and the Unicef committee, which anchors it firmly in village life.
