The Oliebollenloop organised by IJsclub Haarlem is an easy-going trim run through the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, starting at the 'de Oase' entrance on the 1e Leijweg in Vogelenzang. The programme covers 5, 10 and 20 kilometres, each laid out as a single large lap so that no section has to be run twice. The going is good underfoot and the three distances set off one shortly after another, the longest first. There is no real competitive edge to it: everyone does their best for a decent time, but the mood stays relaxed, and afterwards a drink and a Dutch doughnut are waiting. The entry fee includes the access ticket for the dune reserve. Parking is only allowed on the Waternet car parks and is limited.
