Hollands Duin Ultra

About the race

The Hollands Duin Ultra is a 50-kilometre trail race through the Hollands Duin nature reserve near Noordwijk. The start and finish are at Vrijstaat Nederzandt, right on the beach in the middle of the reserve. The route alternates sandy paths through the dunes with long stretches along the beach and climbs around 650 metres, so wind and footing largely dictate the pace. Runners navigate on their own using a GPX track, as the course is not waymarked; four aid stations wait along the way. The start is at nine in the morning and the finish closes at five, leaving plenty of time to come in. The race is part of the Dutch Ultra Series, which puts an ultra on the calendar every month.
