The Obstacle Run Staphorst is a muddy obstacle race that works its way through the fields and ditches of Overijssel during the annual SAS week. Adults choose between 6 and 11 kilometres and meet some fifty obstacles along the way: climbing, swinging, running and crawling through ditches and mud. Teams of five take on the same two distances in the Team Challenge. Children aged seven and over run 3.5 or 6 kilometres, if they wish accompanied by an adult with a separate ticket. The regular distances are open from the age of twelve, and the starts are spread across the afternoon in waves. The event is organised by Stichting Activiteiten Staphorst, which hosts it within the village festival week.
