Nieuwjaarsloop Aalden Rondomme

About the race

Nieuwjaarsloop Aalden Rondomme is a walking and running event in Zweeloo, starting and finishing at the 't Alterbarg sports park. The route largely follows the Aalden Rondomme walking trail and winds along paths between the farms, wide sandy tracks and stretches through the hedgerow landscape of Drenthe, with splits along the way for the various distances. The event grew out of an initiative by residents of the former municipality of Zweeloo, with a double purpose: getting people active and raising money for a local good cause. Alongside the runners, walkers and Nordic walkers of all ages line up at the start. A volunteer foundation carries both the organisation and the upkeep of the walking trail.
