The Natuurloop Dwars Door De Kazerne is organised by 29 Bataljon Logistiek and runs through the training zone of the military domain near Grobbendonk — ground that is otherwise closed to the public. The gates open at half past five, because without that opening you simply cannot get in. A tight schedule follows: the 10 miles at seven, the 10 kilometres twenty minutes later and the 5 kilometres at twenty to eight. The course combines barracks roads with the woods of Kwartier Den Troon. You can enter in advance or at the gate, where the rate is a few euros higher. The proceeds go to a good cause.
