Mudrun Berltsum was the muddy obstacle run of the Frisian village of Berltsum, with the start and registration at Sportcomplex De Koekoek. Participants chose between 3 and 6 kilometres, in waves setting off from around four in the afternoon; children and juniors took part accompanied by an adult. Bags were looked after and there were showers afterwards — practical, without giving up any of the mud. What began as a modest idea grew into an annual village tradition, but according to the organisers the tenth edition was also the very last. There will not be another.
