Miles for Humanity is the trail run of 11.11.11, starting at the KU Leuven Arenberg sports campus with a course through the Meerdaalwoud south of Leuven. There are three distances: three, six and thirteen miles. The two shortest may be either run or walked; the longest is meant for runners and carries a considerable amount of climbing. What sets the race apart is the condition of entry: every participant raises at least a hundred euros for 11.11.11 and its partners, who work on human rights and international solidarity. Signing up therefore also means fundraising, and that sum is separate from the entry fee. This is as much a campaign as a race.
