The Midden Drenthe Loop has been going for well over thirty-five years and sets off at Camping Midden Drenthe on the Elperweg in Zwiggelte — a campsite as home base gives the day its scale straight away. There are two distances. The 5 kilometres is entirely paved; the 10 has a stretch of sandy track, which in Drenthe makes the difference between pressing on and watching where you put your feet. The course goes through the woods and fields of Midden-Drenthe. Results are decided on net time. The event is organised by Loopgroep Westerbork.
