EMMA Marathon Challenge Parkstad is a three-day challenge during the Whit weekend, with Schutterspark in Brunssum as its fixed base. The classic marathon distance is split over three days: 10 English miles, 5 km and a half marathon of 21.1 km. Participants can take on the full challenge or start on individual days, and there is also a walking category over the same main distances. For young people up to and including 17 years old, there is a Mini-Marathon Challenge with shorter distances from Schutterspark. The event therefore feels less like a single race and more like a weekend build-up to 42.2 km for runners, walkers and teams.
