Marathon Amersfoort is a broad running and walking festival with Eemplein and Eemlaan as its recognisable start and finish area. On Sunday 31 May 2026, the 5, 10 and 21 kilometre runs are central, complemented by mini-marathons for children and walking routes of 5, 15 and 25 kilometres. A day earlier, the weekend also includes an accessible 42.2 kilometre training marathon from Zon & Schild. The routes take participants through the city and green parts of Amersfoort, while a large music programme with DJs, brass bands and samba bands brings energy along the course. That makes Marathon Amersfoort more than a standalone road race: it is a sporting city day where fast runners, walkers, schools and spectators naturally become part of the same movement.
