The Loopavond of AV de Gemzen is not a road race but a track evening on the Lambert Dijkslag track at Sportpark Molenbeek in Heerde, and it is held several times a season. The programme covers 600 metres for the youth alongside 1000, 3000 and 5000 metres. Some evenings add field events such as discus, shot put, long jump and triple jump. Timing is electronic, so the time you run here counts. The field does not come from the village but from across the region — a typical evening draws athletes from dozens of clubs. That makes it a good place both for a first taste of track racing and for anyone chasing a sharp time.
