Lichtjesroute Run

About the race

The Lichtjesroute Run is not a race but a guided group run along the Lichtjesroute, the illuminated ornaments Eindhoven has lit each autumn since the liberation. The start comes once the sun is down, around eight in the evening, because that is the whole point. Every route has a fixed pace and a group of its own: 8 kilometres at eight kilometres an hour, 12 kilometres in two groups at nine and ten, and 14 and 22 kilometres at ten. Pace setters accompany the groups on foot and by bike to hold the rhythm. Only twenty participants can join each route, so places are limited. A shirt is included in the entry.
