Runners choose between 7 kilometres with around 70 metres of elevation gain and 13 kilometres with around 120 metres of elevation gain. That keeps the race accessible for anyone trying a short trail for the first time, while the longer distance adds enough rhythm and climbing for more experienced runners. The setup is deliberately simple: a local trail, a clear choice of distances, limited fields and the option to register on site while places remain available. Precisely because of that straightforward format, La Sarmentaise is about the running itself and the green surroundings of Chaumont-Gistoux.
