The Kwaakerrun is the little sister of the Venloop: the same organisation, the same city, but a race that opens the season rather than closing it. The programme counts five distances, from 500 metres for the youngest participants through 1 and 2.5 kilometres to the 5 and the 10. That lets a whole family start on the same morning without anyone running a distance that does not suit them. The course is entirely asphalt and stays within the city. Everyone runs with a chip, water stands along the 10 kilometres, and after the finish a medal and something to eat are waiting. Prizes go on net time.
