The Berden Voorjaarsloop, run by Scopias Atletiek, opens the spring in Venlo with distances from 500 metres to 15 kilometres. The youngest entrants cover 500 metres and children aged seven to twelve run 1 kilometre, while separate events for FrameRunners and a G-run cover those same distances. Beyond that the programme holds 4, 7.5 and 15 kilometres, with its own classification for school teams over the 4 kilometres and a company run. The distinctive part is the finish: anyone running the 7.5 or the 15 kilometres comes in across the club's professional 400-metre athletics track. That makes the event as accessible to beginners as it is attractive to anyone chasing a time.
