Kermisloop Neeritter is a village race held during the funfair weekend in Neeritter, set up as a local community initiative for young and old. The programme consists of a 1500-metre kids' run for children up to and including age twelve, a 5 kilometres and a 10 kilometres, with start times following one another through the afternoon so the village stays in motion for hours. The routes run entirely inside Neeritter, which means plenty of encouragement and fairground atmosphere along the way. Official chip timing gives the race a properly organised competitive side, but the tone stays welcoming: taking part alongside friends, family or neighbours counts for at least as much as running fast.
