The Hunebedloop is a road race in Borger with 5 km and 10 km distances for adult runners and the Oekjeugdloop for children. The routes pass through the village and by hunebed D27, the largest dolmen in the Netherlands, giving the event a strong local identity. The Saturday 2 May 2026 edition starts and finishes on the Dorpsplein beside the Willibrord Church. It is a compact village race with fixed start times, a participant limit and a course where running and Drenthe’s prehistoric heritage naturally meet.
