Hulst by Lightrun

About the race

Hulst by Lightrun is an evening event through the illuminated fortified town, starting and finishing on the Grote Markt. The route leads through the streets and over the ramparts that enclose old Hulst. Runners choose between 5.4 and 9.1 kilometres and set off at half past seven; the walkers leave two minutes later over the same 5.4 kilometres. Results are not the point here: the organisers mainly ask participants to turn up extra originally lit, and along the course the lighting and the crowds take care of the rest. Afterwards everyone piles into the cafés around the square. Demand is high — the previous edition sold out within a day and a half.
