The Heuvelland Marathon sets off at the Drielandenpunt above Vaals, the highest point in Dutch Limburg, and finishes in Gulpen — a genuine point-to-point. The marathon holds 943 metres of climbing, the half 456 and the 14 kilometres 287; the last of these starts in Gulpen itself. The course runs largely unpaved, with wide forest tracks, a few single tracks and one valley after another. The marathon goes in two waves early in the morning, the half not until around eleven, so that everyone reaches Gulpen at about the same time. The marathon can also be run as a relay of four or as a duo. The event is organised by Bearsports.
