The Hermesloop is the annual running evening of the Hermes athletics club in Ostend, starting and finishing in the Jozef Verhelle stadium on the Torhoutsesteenweg. The evening opens with the youngsters, who run 400 or 800 metres depending on their age category; taking part in those is free. At seven o'clock the main distances set off: a 5-kilometre jog and a 10-kilometre competitive race. Afterwards there is a raffle with prizes from local businesses. The race counts towards the Movement Running criterium, so participants can gather points across a series of races. The entry fee is lower the earlier you sign up.
