Halve Marathon van Nieuwleusen is a road race organised by Bos Bedden Loopgroep AG '85, with Restaurant LIV as the recognisable start and finish location. The half marathon follows one paved loop from Nieuwleusen towards the Staphorster Staatsbos and back. Outside the start and finish area, the course is not fully closed to traffic, giving the race a practical and attentive character. Alongside the 21.1 km distance, the programme includes a 4-mile race and a 1 km youth run; there are also frame-running variants over 1 km and 4 miles. In that way, Nieuwleusen combines a classic half marathon with shorter, accessible options for different kinds of participants.
