The Vogelwijkloop is the neighbourhood race of HAAG Atletiek, with start and finish on the track at the Laan van Poot and a course running through the Vogelwijk district of The Hague. There are four distances: two children's races over 1 kilometre, a 3 kilometre and a 5 kilometre, with the first lap of the 5 following the same course as the 3. The 5 kilometre counts towards the Haag112 classification. The setup is markedly accessible: entry is free with a voluntary contribution, and alongside runners, walkers, frame runners and blind and partially sighted participants are welcome. The Vogelwijk residents' association helps out, which makes the race as much a neighbourhood morning as a competition.
